Are you a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience working in power generation, heavy manufacturing or a process plant environment?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist power plant in Leicestershire that converts waste-derived materials into energy.
Working as part of the maintenance team, you will help keep the plant operating safely, reliably and efficiently. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support inspections, outages and plant improvement projects.
The role would suit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Technician, Plant Engineer or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias.

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Role Working as part of the site maintenance team, you will help maximise plant availability while ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively.
You will work on equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation and process plant systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
Responding to plant breakdowns and equipment failures
Diagnosing mechanical and basic electrical faults
Repairing pumps, gearboxes, valves, motors and associated equipment
Completing routine inspections and condition monitoring
Supporting plant modifications and reliability improvements
Assisting with outage planning and maintenance activity
Recording completed work accurately through the site CMMS
Supporting spare parts and maintenance stock control
Following site procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
Supporting pressure system and lifting equipment compliance
Participating in the 1 in 4 call-out rota
What Were Looking For We are looking for a practical, safety-conscious engineer with strong mechanical maintenance experience gained within an industrial environment.
You will ideally have:
A Level 3 engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent
Mechanical maintenance experience within a process plant or heavy industrial environment
Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
Experience working with pumps, gearboxes, valves, motors, conveyors, hydraulics or pneumatics
Good health and safety awareness
Basic IT and maintenance reporting skills
Experience using a CMMS or maintenance management system
The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
Experience gained within power generation, energy recovery, waste treatment, recycling, chemicals, refining, steel, utilities or heavy manufacturing would be particularly relevant.
Knowledge of steam systems, water treatment, pressure systems, lifting equipment, Piranha CMMS, IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous but is not essential.
About You You will be a practical and reliable engineer who enjoys investigating faults, completing effective repairs and helping to reduce plant downtime.
You do not need previous experience working within this specific type of power plant. However, you must have credible mechanical maintenance experience and be comfortable working on industrial equipment within a live, safety-critical process environment.
