Applications are invited from those interested in the above vacancy. We require a professional Dog Warden to take enforcement action in respect of the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996. Participate in a team working approach to deliver the Dog Warden Service. Establish effective working relationships with officers of other Services and Departments to enable the Dog Warden Service to play a full and effective role in the authority so that Council objectives can be achieved. Our work is varied and includes meeting the public and representatives of other services and department as necessary and provide appropriate information on request. To patrol the district, apprehend stray dogs and return them to their owners or to a place of custody. Issue fixed penalty tickets to members of the public committing offences under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996. Respond to complaints made about dogs made from members of the public, other Council departments and outside bodies. Applicants should possess a current driving license and a good level of literacy, numeracy & IT skills. Experience of working within a Dog Warden role is desirable along with experience in a public sector role. Want to Know More?
