Overview
The Cavendish Laboratory is the place of pioneering physics, at the forefront of scientific discovery for 150 years. The Department has moved into the new Ray Dolby Centre, a centrepiece of the Cavendish Laboratory, and is seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude towards change and development to join Cavendish Engineering, one of the largest multidisciplinary university workshops in the UK.
Opportunity and Leadership
An opportunity has arisen requiring a candidate with a very strong mechanical understanding, fantastic team leadership, excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Reporting to the Head of Cavendish Engineering, you will directly manage the mechanical workshop team, and support and represent the head in all other engineering and management activities as required.
Responsibilities
* Directly manage the mechanical workshop team.
* Support and represent the Head of Cavendish Engineering in engineering and management activities as required.
Qualifications and Skills
* Very strong mechanical understanding.
* Excellent team leadership and people management abilities.
* Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
