Job Title: Contracts Manager-Highways and Transport
Pay Rate: £26.94 an hour PAYE / £35.11 an hour UMBRELLA
Hours: 36 Hours a week (Mon-Fri)
Duration: Initial 6 Month Contract
Location: HYBRID WORKING - Office/On Site based minimum 3 days in Newham
Responsibilities
* Lead officer of the Group for Programming and Contract Management using the NEC Suite of contracts and the Manual Contract Documentation for Highways Works, for contracts worth up to £20m per annum. Project managers will be assigned to manage actual projects and run them on site, while the post holder maintains an overall view of contract management.
* Develop and regularly monitor individual work programmes and an overall master work programme, helping ensure contractors deliver within approved budgets and timescales.
* Support the Head of Service for Engineering by leading on the management and procurement of contracts within the Group, including attending monthly review meetings with contractors and leading the procurement process.
* Regularly monitor performance indicators and quality targets to ensure the group meets agreed objectives.
* Work with Principal Officers to manage professional service suppliers and contractors.
* Maintain a consistently high standard of work and ensure the Group delivers a high quality service, compliant with quality systems, performance indicators, internal and external assessments, and customer feedback.
* Formulate and implement strategies to enhance all aspects of the service.
Knowledge & Abilities
* Comprehensive knowledge of the service area and ability to assess the impact of legislative and/or administrative changes affecting the service.
* Knowledge of the requirements of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to the service area.
* Knowledge of the functions and current trends and developments of local authorities would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Good understanding of the NEC Suite of Contracts.
