We are looking to recruit to a LAS CT1/2 level post in General Adult Psychiatry covering a training gap. Post is to commence on 4th February 2026 until 4th August 2026 only. The post holder will not participate on the on call rota.
Main duties of the job
LAS ST Lower will be working together with the wider clinical team of Consultants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Junior Doctors and other Allied Health Professionals, Physician Associates to provide high quality, safe and effective clinical care. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking physical assessment and history taking of patients and provide immediate care and initiate treatment as per clinical pathways/protocols and Patient Group Directions. The post will also provide excellent communication to Primary Care teams supporting the electronic transfer of care process.
Although this post is not recognised for training, participation in educational programmes, audit and research will be encouraged and supported. There is an active Multi Professional Education Centre and Medical Staff are encouraged to use its facilities. There are also comprehensive Medical Libraries at all sites managed by Chartered Librarians.

MRCPsych examination;

Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practiseii from, the GMC at intended start dateiii
Have evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, in line with GMC standards / Good Medical Practice
Evidence of achievement of CT/ST1 and CT/ST2 competences in psychiatry at time of application
Acceptable evidence includes ARCP or equivalent certificates
