Overview
We are excited to advertise a full time band 7 Clinical Specialist post in the Selby CAMHS team due to the current post holder emigrating. This post is within the friendly Selby CAMHS team, a small group of professionals who offer support to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership for the team, and work in partnership with local and wider clinical and operational leadership teams across the care group. Selby CAMHS covers Selby, Tadcaster and Pocklington and offers ADHD assessment and intervention and Autism assessment in addition to generic mental health assessment and intervention. We are looking for someone with a Professional registration in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work, ideally with at least 2 years band 6 or equivalent experience.
The post holder will lead clinically and contribute to service development and improvement within CAMHS.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work England).
* For nursing professions - Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent and trained in providing clinical supervision.
* For other professions - evidence of training in clinical supervision of staff and ability to demonstrate competence in clinical supervision of staff and/or students/trainees.
* Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice.
* Willingness to work towards a postgraduate diploma within 2 years if not already held.
* Within the first year, hold a recognised advanced clinical qualification or Masters level credits (e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy, Post Grad diploma in CBT, etc.).
* Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/Master's level with significant experience as a band 6 or above in a relevant clinical area, with CPD evidence.
* Substantial clinical experience working in a relevant specialist area in collaboration with service users and families, or transferable experience in similar settings, with willingness to gain knowledge within the first 12 months.
* Experience of assessing and managing risk (harm to self, others and safeguarding).
* Substantial experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Involvement in quality improvement activities.
Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of current health needs in the field, regionally and nationally.
* Understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding principles.
* Clinical risk assessment and management, clinical governance, and medicines management relevant to practice.
* Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment (depending on specialist area).
Other Requirements
* Evidence of partnership working with other agencies.
* Ability to travel independently in line with Trust policies and service needs.
* This role requires a relevant DBS check.
