The Role
We are seeking an experienced Defence Project Manager to lead high-profile defence initiatives from concept through to delivery. Youll work across the full project lifecycle managing teams, subcontractors, budgets, and risks to deliver complex equipment and capability projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role will see you collaborating with defence stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technology innovators to bring mission-critical solutions to life.
What Youll Be Doing
* Leading medium-scale engineering or defence projects through every stage of delivery.
* Building and maintaining detailed project schedules, monitoring milestones, and mitigating delays.
* Managing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring commercial viability.
* Conducting formal risk assessments and resolving issues proactively.
* Overseeing subcontractor performance, deliverables, and contract variations.
* Supporting bids and proposals with accurate scoping, costing, and resource planning.
* Building long-term relationships with defence customers and key stakeholders.
* Coaching and mentoring team members, sharing best practice.
What Were Looking For
* Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Project Management or related discipline.
* Proven track record managing engineering or defence programmes from concept to delivery.
* Strong stakeholder management skills in engineering, defence, or government settings.
* Experience managing third-party contractors.
* Familiarity with structured project management (PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP).
* Proficiency in MS Project, risk management tools, and financial tracking.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
