Your role will be to support effective clinical care by providing efficient Health Records, administrative, clerical and receptionist services. This includes ensuring patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions are accurately administered, and that patient health records—both electronic and paper-based—are confidential, securely stored and available when required. The role also involves maintaining accurate patient demographic and administrative data and working in a fast‑paced call‑centre environment, handling high volumes of calls to book, cancel and rearrange appointments.
No Band 2 roles are eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa or Health and Care Worker visa routes. For Band 3 roles, only posts of 32 hours per week or more may meet eligibility. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) cannot provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for roles that do not meet these criteria, and applications requiring sponsorship will not be considered.

Working pattern: Shift pattern - Monday & Tuesday 08:30-20:00/30, Wednesday 09:30-20:00/30 & Saturday 09:00-13:00/30
This is a GGC‑wide post, meaning you may be moved to any location within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The initial base will be the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Key responsibilities
* Provide efficient Health Records support to patients and clinical staff.
* Administer and process outpatient, day‑case and inpatient appointments accurately.
* Maintain confidentiality and secure storage of patient health records.
* Ensure electronic and paper records are accurate, up to date and accessible.
* Continually check and update patient demographic and administrative information on the patient management system.
* Handle high volumes of incoming and outgoing calls in a call‑centre environment.
* Book, cancel and rearrange outpatient appointments while giving clear and helpful information to patients.
* Deliver general administrative, clerical and reception duties to support clinical care.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in three subjects, including English (or equivalent).
* General administration or clerical experience desirable.
* Computer‑literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience is not essential but is desirable.
