Machinist or Trainee Machinist

Role:
Full time, permanent position as a Wood Machinist.
Salary: £16.63 - £17.85 per hour
Working hours: 6.00am 2.00pm; 2.00pm 10.00pm and 10.00pm 6.00am rotating shift pattern NO WEEKENDS
We are looking for candidate who will be able to set and run the line Moulder, Beam saw and handling equipment to schedule from drawings issued.
Liaising with Painter and utilising the Production Operatives to assist in these duties and signing off their work. Having knowledge of the whole line process being the first responder to problem solving both in their area and the Painters and production operator. Overall responsibility of the finished Product, ensuing production quality checks and processing information are carried out and correct.
Purpose of Role:
To be able to set and run theline Moulder,Beamsawandhandling equipment to schedule from drawings issued. Liaising with Painter and utilising theProductionOperativestoassistin these duties and signingoff their work.Having knowledge of the whole line process being the first responder toproblem solving both in their area and the Painters the finished Product, ensuingproduction quality checks and processing informationare carried out and correct.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* To setBeamsaw, Moulder andhandling to schedule and drawings issued.
* Knowledge and understanding and able to use paint line equipment, Vacuum coater, SanderFaldder, Ovens, able to offer support knowledge support to Painter.
* Utilising the Wrapper position toassistin these duties, signing off their work when done
* Production quality check and processing information
* Driving your team each day to achieve or better its quota
* Ensuring the overallend productiethe required standard and correct data.
* Liaising with your Shift Supervisor allocation work at times when the line is down or when positions are job specific
* Ensuring your teamwork within company Health and Safety policy, reporting of any hazards
* Setting ofBeamsawto works schedule. A fully automated programme usingHolzmaCadmaticprogram
* Updating the information on theBeamsawandselectionof the correct type of blade.
* Theupkeepof the Maintenance schedule set out by theCadmaticprogram
* Daily cleaning of theBeamsawfrom production
* Removal ofBeamsawoffcuts
* Setting & operation of theWeiniginfeed and outfeed accelerator units
* Setting of Moulder to works schedule using theWeinigPowercomsystem
* Upkeepof theWeinigPowercommaintenance schedule
* Daily cleaning of the moulder
* Reporting any maintenance issues via T-Card system
* Checkthe quality of machined product, ensuringabest finish and to the works drawing
* Signing off Quality sheet
* Filling in the pack processed sheet and picking correct pack ticket
* Overall product finished quality and package data
* Utilising the wrapping operative to set theWeinigoutfeed HMI and bundling system to the works schedule. Oversee it is done correctly and signing off
* Trouble shooting ofBeamsaw, moulder and allWeinighandling equipment
* Carry all work out in line with current risk assessments and S.O.Ps

Skills &Knowledge:
* BasicNumeracy and English
* In house training of operation of woodworking machinery

Flexibility:

* During busy periods overtime may berequiredto service machinery and to support with holiday or sickness cover.
* During the busy periods of the year, it may be necessary to change working hours to ensure that duties are effectively performed, this includes working alternative shift patterns to includeoperatinga night shift.
