Salary: Up to £38,448 per annum
Type: Permanent. Full-time positions available (average 40 hours per week, with various shifts).
Your starting salary will be £33,500 pa, increasing to £34,550 after 12 months, and up to £38,448 upon 3 years’ service. We support your progression through your PCO Portfolio or PCO Apprenticeship, which can raise your salary to £38,448 within 12-18 months. We also offer:

Location: HMP Thameside
We operate 24/7, covering days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, with a rota that offers flexibility for work-life balance. Candidates should consider their commute and aim to live within 30 miles of the prison.
Application process: Complete an online assessment, followed by an interview, role play, written exercise, competency-based interview, maths assessments, and a fitness test (including Bleep Test, Agility Test, Shield Hold, and Grip Test). Successful candidates will attend a 10-week training course, earning a Diploma in Custodial Care, First Aid, and Control and Restraint training.

Additional notes: The role is based at HMP Thameside, London. Applicants should consider their commute. This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
