We're recruiting for a Compliance Technical Consultant to join our helpdesk team and support SimplyBiz members from a compliance perspective to ensure they meet compliance standards regarding FCA regulations.
This role is based in our Huddersfield office where we operate a hybrid working model, providing a balance of home and office working.
What you'll be doing
1. Researching and investigating queries from our Member Firms and providing robust, prompt and complete answers
2. Maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry changes and relaying this to our members in a clear, easily understood manner
3. Assisting firms with the completion of RegData by advising them how to gather data, complete and cross validate the return
4. Reviewing and providing guidance and assistance to Member Firms in relation to financial promotions, disclosure documents and stationery
5. Assisting firms with general queries regarding the Authorisation and Agency processes
What you need to succeed
6. Relevant financial services qualifications (e.g. Level 4 Diploma)
7. A good understanding of the UK financial services industry including directly authorised firms
8. A good working knowledge of financial products
9. Excellent customer support skills, combining customer service with technical support
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a good telephone manner and confident outbound calling skills
11. Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines
12. Capable of quickly learning new information and explaining it to others
13. Collaborative problem solving, involving liaison with other internal departments
14. Ability to build relationships with both internal and external contacts
15. Open to obtaining additional qualifications up to Chartered status
Nice to haves
16. Tax and trust qualification or equivalent experience in dealing with queries of this nature
17. Discretionary fund management qualification or equivalent experience of dealing with queries of this nature
