Overview - What Will the Industrial Placement Involve? Pragmatic Semiconductor is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity starting from the summer of 2025, lasting 12 months. We welcome applications from talented, positive individuals to join us. This paid placement will provide excellent practical experience within a fast-paced, growing company. This internship will be based in Cambridge within our Technology Team, where you will be exposed to various departments and projects. We have a strong track record of hosting successful interns, with many subsequently joining us permanently after completing their studies. We are committed to offering internships that are fun, challenging, and rewarding, providing invaluable insight into how a semiconductor company operates. Interns will benefit from the support of a dedicated line manager and will work both within their teams and cross-functionally to support the company’s objectives.

What Are We Looking For?
Project 1: The ideal candidate should be interested in a role that blends hardware and software skills, focusing on analogue and digital semiconductor circuits. You will contribute to designing and developing frameworks that enable validation of Pragmatic Semiconductor Flex ICs and RFID tags.
Project 2: The primary focus will be evaluating and enhancing our current probe card designs. Additionally, we will develop IEEE-compliant component libraries and release them for Altium workspace users within the company.
Project 3: Design of a buffer circuit that can serve as an interface between chips that need to be tested on wafer and the digital test instrumentation.
What will you be studying now? Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field that involves PCB, IC, and some Software design (LabVIEW & Python). Mechatronics would also be of interest.
What would make you stand out from the crowd? Solid PCB design skills (Altium preferred), Python and LabVIEW experience, an appreciation of lab equipment use, and a strong foundation in Analog and Digital Electronics.
