Job Overview
At the Environment Agency you will support the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team by overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors. This role involves managing pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term partnership arrangements.
You will work country‑wide with Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community to champion effective governance and commercial assurance, delivering value for money and driving commercial risk management.
All team members undertake incident response duties when required.
Responsibilities
* Support commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and strengthen partnership arrangements.
* Provide country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
* Build and maintain internal and external relationships to become an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations.
* Participate in incident response duties as required.
Qualifications
* A‑Level qualifications, Level 3 qualifications or equivalent.
* Strong communication and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations and deliver value for money.
* Administration skills – organisation, minutes and report drafting.
* Willingness to undertake long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training, CIPS, etc.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
* Working towards status with recognised professional bodies (ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
