Anderson Knight are delighted to be recruiting a key role for our Financial Services client based in Glasgow City Centre. This is the pivotal appointment of a Senior Accountant.
This is a key role, as they bring key functions in-house and implement modern systems like SAGE Intacct, the Senior Accountant will play an instrumental role in developing financial processes and control environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to contribute to the continued success and governance of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations, P&L schedules, and the drafting of the management information pack.
• Assist in the preparation of key monthly schedules and executive summaries to support management accounts.
• Manage the budgeting process, including expenditure planning, cash forecasting, and variance tracking.
• Review the accounting treatment for investments and recommend improvements to processes and methodology.
• Support the Executive team in monitoring and managing investment activities and communication with investment managers.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and audit processes.
• Support tax compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Manage daily bank reconciliations and oversee cash balances for both short- and long-term planning.
• Prepare and maintain cashflow projections to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure payments are processed according to the approved delegation of authority, and act as banking administrator.
• Optimise the use of SAGE Intacct, developing processes, reporting, and user knowledge within the team.
• Continuously review internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting systems to identify and implement improvements.
• Provide support for the preparation of risk and control reports to the audit committee.
• Provide business continuity cover for the general ledger maintenance and draft management accounts.
• Support the wider Finance team to ensure the smooth operation of the Executive team’s functions, including absence cover as needed.
The main candidate will be:
• A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience in financial management and reporting.
• Strong experience with cashflow management, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Excellent technical knowledge, particularly in accounting software such as SAGE Intacct or similar ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to optimise processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
