About us
The Science Museum Group (SMG) manages and preserves a globally significant collection related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. We inspire futures by engaging diverse audiences through our museums, exhibitions, and educational programmes. Fundraising is vital to helping us deliver our ambitious plans and continue to make science accessible for all.
To support this work, we are now looking for a Fundraising Coordinator to join our experienced Fundraising and Partnerships team on a full-time permanent basis. This role is based at the Science Museum in London, with flexible hybrid working options.
About the role
As Fundraising Coordinator, you'll play a central role in supporting our fundraising activities across various income streams, including trusts and foundations, individuals, and corporate supporters. You'll help ensure the smooth operation of the Fundraising and Partnerships team by supporting the Director with diary management, managing key processes, facilitating cross-team meetings, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
You will resourcefully support the department in reaching income targets and managing strong funding partnerships. You will have the opportunity to represent the team by welcoming VIP guests and participating in pivotal meetings that shape SMG's future.
This role offers the chance to be involved and creative in a variety of projects within fast-moving departments, all aligned with SMG's ambitious plans, as well as supporting the Science Museum Foundation.
About you
You will be someone who enjoys being organised and attentive to detail. You should have experience working in a busy office or administrative environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. A resourceful, flexible approach to work and a commitment to efficient team operations are essential.
Effective communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with diverse individuals are crucial. Fundraising experience is not necessary; if you are interested in the sector and possess transferable skills in organisation, teamwork, and administration, we would love to hear from you.
Don't meet all the criteria?
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't align perfectly. Your transferable skills could make you the right candidate for this or other opportunities within our organisation.
