We need a maintenance assistant to join our team to help keep our hospital environment safe, operational by supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors - day in day out, it's a blend of planned maintenance coupled with emergency repairs and everything in between.
Job responsibilities
As an Estates Maintenance Worker, you\'ll play a vital role in ensuring our hospitals remain safe, functional, and comfortable for patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
* Planned Maintenance: Executing a range of planned maintenance tasks to keep our buildings and external environments safe and in good order.
* Safety First: Prioritising safety by conducting regular inspections and addressing potential hazards to create a secure environment.
* Exceptional Service: Delivering outstanding customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
* Flexible Support: Adapting to changing priorities and working flexibly to support our clinical teams and patient care.
* External grounds inspections
* Repair and replacement external pavings and kerbs
* Casting of concrete slabs
* General site labouring
* Dismantling and installation of hospital equipment and street furniture
* Road repairs
* General building repairs
* Patch plastering

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust. Job description

Qualifications and requirements
Knowledge/Experience Essential
* Proven history of working within an Engineering / Building environment.
* Good hand skills working with fine tools.
* Excellent communication skills: both written & verbal.
* Experience and competence to carry out builders general tasks.
Desirable
* Experience and sound knowledge of plastering.
Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to City and Guilds Level
* NVQ Training in an Engineering / Building Discipline
Other
* Proactive and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
* Team player.
* Demonstrates commitment to the job.
* Able to manage conflicting demands and plan work as appropriate.
