What does the job entail?
On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Property Project Manager to join their Property Services team. This is a high-profile role and an ideal opportunity for someone with project management experience looking to develop within a Local Authority setting.
You will achieve this by:
1. Prepare, monitor, and deliver allocated Capital Programmes.
2. Commission projects and programmes to external consultants as appropriate.
3. Assess and evaluate consultants' fee offers and monitor their performance.
4. Formulate and agree project briefs with client department representatives.
5. Provide general cost advice and estimates as required.
6. Review capital programmes periodically for the county treasurer.
7. Manage projects from inception to completion according to client requirements.
8. Prepare and update tender and contract documents.
9. Provide contractual advice to consultants as necessary.
10. Monitor project expenditure to ensure it remains within budget.
11. Manage in-house projects unsuitable for external commissioning.
12. Review adherence to contracts and standards.
13. Promote and comply with relevant policies such as Health & Safety and Sustainability.
14. Advise Elected Members and departments on procurement matters.
15. Attend meetings and handle all correspondence related to this role.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
* A construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
* Membership of a professional institution with a record of ongoing professional development.
* Experience managing substantial construction projects.
* Knowledge of design and construction principles for council property development, extensions, and refurbishment projects.
* Understanding of contractual arrangements for procurement in a local government environment.
* Experience in Service Delivery within the Education Sector is essential.
* A proven track record in the construction industry.
