In this role, you will be responsible for upgrading castings in ferrous alloys, ensuring high-quality standards, and working within precise tolerances. You will operate various tools and machinery, including water jetting units, shot blasting cabinets, and cut-off saws, to achieve optimal results. Key Responsibilities: Upgrade and finish castings in ferrous alloys. Remove castings from Replicast casting boxes as needed. Operate high-pressure and low-pressure water jetting units for ceramic removal. Remove fine ceramic mould materials from castings. Load and unload abrasive grit blasting (shot blasting) cabinets. Remove metal running, feeding, and gating systems using hand tools such as grinders, burrs, and abrasive belts. Operate large cut-off saws. Prepare castings for welding based on NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) results. Dress castings back to drawing tolerance and profile. Perform weld mapping activities. Safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks. Use measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometres, and depth gauges to ensure precision.
