Job summary
The Ridgeway Surgery are looking to recruit a part-time General Practitioner to join our growing dynamic clinical team. The post is for 6 sessions per week (this may increase to 7 sessions in 12 month's time).
The post-holder will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with acute and long term conditions. You will also provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.

Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Our continually growing list size currently stands at just over 11500 patients and our diverse clinical team comprises 6 GPs, an ANP, a Specialist Nurse Practitioner, a Nurse Practitioner and a team of 4 part-time Practice nurses plus an Assistant Practitioner who are all supported by a full administrative team.
We are a training practice, taking both doctor and nurse trainees and we are also a research active practice.

Job responsibilities
The role is commensurate with a salaried GP role and responsibilities.
There will be a requirement to provide on-call duties once a week as well as late working on a Monday evening until In addition:
a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.
c.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
e.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks

u. Supervision for trainees/ARRS staff as required
v.Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. (These duties will include reports/cremation forms. The fees for this work would be retained within the practice budget).

1. MBBS / MRCGP or equivalent medical degree
2. Full registration with GMC (unrestricted)

7. Experience of QOF and clinical audit
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

10. Ability to work with limited supervision;
11. Time management skills- ideally a proven ability to handle a primary care case load;
Desirable
12. Minimum of two years working in general practice
