Owner's Shipyard Manager (Contract Assignment)

SeaMarque is acting as the exclusive recruitment and procurement partner on behalf of a major ferry and transport operator undertaking a significant RoPax vessel newbuild programme in Asia.
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced maritime professionals, independent consultants for a contract-based Owner's Shipyard Manager assignment supporting vessel construction activities at a leading shipyard in China.
This is not a permanent employment opportunity.
The successful candidate will be engaged on a professional services contract and will be expected to operate as an independent contractor or through an appropriately established consulting/business entity capable of providing the required services.
Contract Requirements
Applicants must be able to demonstrate their ability to provide a fully compliant contracting solution, including:
* Appropriate business registration and legal contracting structure.
* Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance coverage.
* Ability to meet local and international taxation obligations.
* Ability to obtain and maintain any required visas, permits, and work authorisations.
* Capacity to manage international travel, accommodation, and associated logistics.
* Compliance with applicable health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The successful contractor will be responsible for providing these arrangements as part of their service offering.
Essential Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
* Significant experience acting as an Owner's Representative, Shipyard Manager, Newbuilding Manager, Site Manager, or equivalent role.
* Previous experience working within Chinese shipyards and managing stakeholder relationships in China.
* Demonstrated delivery of RoPax, passenger ferry, cruise, accommodation, or other complex vessel construction projects.
* Strong commercial, contractual, and project delivery capability.
* Experience managing multi-disciplinary supervision teams and shipyard interfaces.
