This is an exciting opportunity
to develop leadership and management skills while supervising multi-sport complexes and leading a team of Sport & Exercise Assistants. You’ll plan and deliver recreation activities, support BUCS sport, and mentor students on placements to enhance their learning and employability.
You’ll also contribute to event management, financial performance, and operational planning, ensuring our facilities remain safe, inclusive, and accessible for students, staff, and community users.
About Us
The School of Sport & Exercise Science boasts extensive facilities, including:
1. University Arena: 2,000-seat venue with 3 basketball courts, designed for mobility-impaired athletes
2. St John’s Campus Sport Centre: 6-court sports hall, gymnasium, clinical simulation rooms, and two FA/RFU-accredited 3G pitches
3. Riverside Centre: Fitness gym, sprung-floor activity hall, sports therapy and physiotherapy clinics, and a new rehabilitation clinic
4. Lakeside Campus: 50-acre outdoor activity site undergoing redevelopment
We also offer specialist academic facilities such as physiology labs, performance analysis labs, and biomechanics and psychology labs. Our team works closely with Worcester Students’ Union and partners with local clubs and elite-level sport, including Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Worcester Rugby Football Club, and UW Worcester Wolves Basketball Club.

About You
We’re looking for someone who:
11. Holds a degree (or equivalent) in sport, exercise, or outdoor activity and has at least 3 years’ industry experience
12. Has current qualifications or experience in sport, exercise, fitness, or physical activity facilitation
13. Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage bookings and events to tight deadlines
14. Can confidently train and supervise staff, ensuring safe and effective daily operations
15. Brings strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and external partners
16. Has applied knowledge of Health & Safety, safeguarding, and risk management procedures
17. Is computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft applications and social media for promotion
18. Holds (or is willing to obtain) a first aid qualification
19. A full driving licence and higher-level coaching or health and safety qualifications are desirable
