Residential Child Care Support Worker - Hours
Location: Wigton
Contract Type: Part-time, permanent
Specific Hours: hours per week - shift pattern
Salary: Unqualified: pro rata £, with sleep-in shifts; Qualified: pro rata (£, FTE) with potential earnings up to £, with sleep-in shifts. (Qualified Care Worker salary based on Level Diploma for Residential Childcare)
North Lakes Children’s Services is a well-established provider of residential care and education for boys aged -. We aim to improve resilience, self-esteem, and abilities.
As a Residential Support Worker, you should be committed, passionate, and a positive role model. Your role involves supporting young people’s routines, attending appointments, and helping create positive experiences and memories.
We seek permanent Support Workers with a warm, approachable manner who can make a significant impact on young people's recovery from early life experiences.
Main Duties include:
* Supporting daily routines, hygiene, meals, and activities
* Supporting independence, socialization, and bedtime routines
* Attending medical and other appointments
* Working with activity planners and completing daily paperwork
* Managing budgeting, house checks, shopping, meal prep, and hygiene tasks
* Building relationships with families and planning contacts
Role also involves being a Keyworker, fostering strong bonds, warmth, empathy, and care.
Requirements:
* Flexibility for shift work, including sleep-ins
* Understanding of issues faced by young people in care
* Qualification in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
* Excellent communication skills, willingness to learn, team player
* Enhanced DBS check (paid for by us)
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work is advantageous
* Full UK driving license and ability to cover other homes
