Position: Electrical Estimator
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45k - £55k+ dep on exp. plus pkg

A well established electrical contractor based in Birmingham is adding to their team. As a business, they are an established entity within the commercial, industrial and residential construction industry, specialising in electrical design and build, taking on projects up to £7.0 million with a current turnover of £25 million.
Job Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects, ensuring that all bids are submitted in a timely manner. You will have a strong understanding of electrical building services, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
2. Identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids
3. Source and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate estimates
5. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
6. Prepare and submit bids within specified deadlines
7. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software
8. Track and analyze project costs to identify any variances from the estimated budget
9. Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues
10. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure a competitive edge in the market
11. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure accurate and competitive estimating
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator
2. Strong understanding of electrical building services
3. Knowledge of estimating software and tools
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
5. Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
7. An ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
8. Electrical qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred but not required
