In this pivotal role as a Production Workshop Supervisor based in Thatcham, Newbury – you’ll be on the ground, managing workflow, driving performance and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Pay:
7. £38,000 to £42,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
8. Leading and motivating the fabrication and assembly teams, setting clear expectations, offering support and coaching, creating a high-performing, engaged workforce.
9. Scheduling jobs and managing daily workflow, ensuring alignment with production plans, deadlines, and resource availability.
10. Personally inspecting and signing off key work items, ensuring all work meets engineering drawings, internal quality standards, and customer specifications.
11. Monitoring workshop performance, using KPIs such as output, quality and productivity to guide decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
12. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed, and that any issues are resolved promptly.
13. Collaborating across departments, working closely with the General Manager and other stakeholders to align priorities, review team performance, and support ongoing operational improvements.
Required experience and skills:
14. Proven leadership experience in a fabrication or metalworking workshop
15. Strong hands-on MIG/TIG welding experience with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
16. Familiarity with metalworking techniques including folding, forming, and laser cutting
17. Confident using job tracking systems, production data, Excel, and email
18. Experience applying Lean principles such as 5S and continuous improvement in a practical setting
19. Clear and confident communicator, comfortable liaising with both shop floor staff and senior management
