Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century. The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state‑of‑the‑art vessels.

Responsibilities
* Lead and take responsibility for the identification and analysis of a range of stakeholders and their impact on the project, as well as effectively listening to and influencing others through negotiation and persuasion.
* Manage projects within the constraints of time, cost and quality, including control of costs against budgets, forecasting, and establishing performance indicators.
* Identify and analyse the context, opportunities and challenges presented by projects in a range of organisational settings, appreciating the differences within organisations and in different industry sectors and the consequent need for tailoring.
* Maintain and evaluate different commercial contract and procurement types to select appropriate options for specific programmes and projects; manage governance frameworks and project management plans as required; apply techniques and project management methodologies appropriate to the project’s complexity and criticality.
* Identify the operating constraints that apply to projects including ethical, legal and regulatory considerations; include the green economy and the impacts of strategies for achieving net carbon zero by 2050.
* Lead stakeholder and communications management; develop and execute a project communication plan across stakeholders with different cultural and physical barriers; analyse information and incorporate feedback to assess communication effectiveness.
* Control projects in terms of time, cost and quality; produce status reports; measure progress and actual costs against plans; maintain quality standards appropriate to the project.
* Risk management: identify, evaluate and implement mitigation strategies; regularly review the risk management plan; manage both threats and opportunities.
* Commercial and contract management: maintain and evaluate contract types; support effective contract management and achievement of programme and project outcomes.
* Project change control: define and apply a recognised process to manage change; make effective decisions in the interests of stakeholders; handle change within different project‑management methodologies.
* Schedule management: evaluate requirements and methods for data capture and analysis; assess and resolve scheduling problems; acquire and manage resources; negotiate allocation to meet project demands.
Qualifications
* GCSE in Maths and English (grade A‑C or 9‑4 or equivalent).
* Advanced Level in STEM‑based subjects (grade 96 UCAS points, C or above).
* Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience.
* Communication skills.

* Team working.
Compensation & Benefits
* £23,493 a year (competitive salary with annual increases).

* Training course: Project Manager (Integrated Degree) Level 6.
* Hours: Shifts to be confirmed 37 hours a week.
