Children and Young Adult Speech & Language Therapist (Bank) – The Clementine Churchill Hospital. Bank Shifts. Salary: Up to £45.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

We have an opportunity for a Children and Young Adult Speech & Language Therapist to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties Of This Role
* Conduct detailed assessments of speech, language, communication, and swallowing functions using a variety of clinical tools and techniques.
* Develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals, including communication therapy, voice therapy, and dysphagia management.
* Monitor and review progress, adjusting intervention plans as required to optimise patient outcomes.
* Collaborate with medical teams, nursing staff, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care.
* Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and discharge planning, providing specialist input and recommendations.
* Contribute to shared goal-setting and care planning for patients with complex needs.
* Educate patients, families, and carers about therapy strategies, communication aids, and safe swallowing practices.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with HCPC, RCSLT, and organisational policies.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
* HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
* Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working with communication and/or swallowing disorders.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
* Postgraduate training in dysphagia or a specialist clinical area.
* Experience working in acute hospital, neurorehabilitation, oncology, or critical care settings.
* Involvement in service development, audit, or quality improvement initiatives.
* Previous CYP experience, specifically speech delay, essential.
