We are a specialist contractor delivering high-quality passive fire protection solutions across commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial projects. Our work includes fire stopping, fire door installation and maintenance, and compartmentation surveys.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team on a contract basis to oversee multiple live projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple passive fire protection projects running concurrently. This includes ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with BM TRADA / FIRAS / IFC third-party accreditation requirements, relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 8214, BS 9999), and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage several live projects at different stages – from mobilisation through to handover.
* Review and interpret fire stopping technical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
* Liaise with clients, principal contractors, and site managers to coordinate works and resolve issues quickly.
* Plan resources (labour, materials, subcontractors) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Carry out regular site visits, inspections, and progress reporting.
* Ensure all installation works meet third-party accreditation requirements (e.g., BM TRADA).
* Monitor and control project budgets, variations, and invoicing.
* Lead toolbox talks and enforce health & safety compliance.
* Prepare and submit project documentation – RAMS, handover packs, QA records.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, ideally within passive fire protection.
* Strong working knowledge of fire stopping systems, compartmentation, and BM TRADA certification processes.
* Ability to read, interpret, and mark up technical fire-stopping drawings and as-built plans.
* Track record of managing multiple concurrent projects effectively.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and deadlines.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Knowledge of relevant standards (BS 8214, BS 9999, Building Regulations Part B).
