Responsibilities
* Supporting the Clinical Systems lead in the promotion, implementation, documentation, maintenance and management of clinical systems ensuring a pro‑active management approach based on monitoring errors and system status.
* Acting as a lead within the PACS team, you will promote and support the day‑to‑day operation, safe use and security of the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) in the clinical environment.
* To proactively work with colleagues to ensure the data quality and integrity of the systems are accurate and up to date, providing training as required. Systems include Insignia PACS, Soliton RIS, Image Exchange Portal (IEP), Syngo Via, t‑Quest Order Comms and other applications connected to the PACS/RIS system across the Trust.
* To deputise for the Clinical Systems, Lead and undertake line manager responsibility for junior staff within the service area.
* Working with the Clinical Systems Lead, be responsible for the management of the day‑to‑day system administration of the PACS, RIS and associated systems integrated to the PACS/RIS systems in the Trust.
* To support the Radiology Clinical Systems, Lead and the Imaging Services Manager in the effective day to day operations of RIS/PACS service.
* To use clinical and technical knowledge to triage issues arising with clinical systems and to understand potential impacts and escalate to Clinical Systems Lead or the Imaging Services Manager as appropriate.
* Be involved in auditing, fault reporting, troubleshooting and maintenance of the RIS and PACS systems and any clinical applications under the control of Imaging, which have an influence on the RIS and PACS systems. This will involve logging and monitoring progress of support calls with suppliers and IT Dept, co‑ordinating and troubleshooting through to resolution in accordance with service level agreements.
* To operationally manage designated members of the PACS administration team, undertaking managerial related duties.
