Sales Operations Director Software B2B: £140-£165K Basic, Plus Bonus & Benefits
As the Group Sales Operations Director, you will work closely with the commercial teams of all Group Business Units. You will be accountable to enforce value pricing and recurring revenue price increases in line with the group best practices, while maintaining governance and auditability. The Group Sales Operations function will serve as the commercial Centre of Excellence for developing and operating processes and systems in support of the Business Units. Sales, Sales Operations systems and reporting line, where they exist will be accountable to the individual Business Units. This is a hands‑on Sales Operations role working with a Global remit across more than 8 Businesses. CEOs and Sales leads, the person must be equally comfortable being a sole contributor and not requiring a team to deliver results.
Role Profile
Create, maintain and enhance a suite of standardised reports to support the sales teams and Group management. Take a lead role in the management of complex bids which require coordination across multiple functions of an organisation by producing and managing the Bid responsibility matrix and associated governance in collaboration with the appointed Business Units prime.
Define and ensure consistent application of sales KPIs and dashboards.
Manage the onboarding of new Sales team members in the businesses through best practice playbook training.
Sales Process Compliance
* Govern and continually review and enhance the sales process to ensure adoption of best practices.
* Support sales leadership on common methodologies of sales process.
* Provide insights into the behaviour of high performers.
* Develop and deliver a roadmap for sales operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business level sales function.
* Identify opportunities to reduce operational cost through use of technology.
* Guide the rollout of new processes, ensure adoption, monitoring and ongoing management.
* Ensure compliance with the delegated authority matrix.
* Ensure the application of policies and practices that provide the protection of the commercial, financial and legal risks to business.
Essential Requirements & Competencies
* Demonstrable experience as P&L leader in a software company. Must come from Telecommunications and Communications Software.
* Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise written and verbal communication.
* International/global responsibility and experience.
* Telecommunications industry domain knowledge.
* Advanced supplier commercial negotiations, including understanding of core contract terms.
* Strong analytical skills in combination with strategic, action‑oriented mindset.
* Team player and outstanding ability to work with and through others.
* High energy and sense of urgency.
* High curiosity and ability to investigate and learn new domains and technologies.
