Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable individual eager to enter women’s football at Tier 3, working with elite female players.
We are looking for Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, or Sports Rehabilitators to join our Medical department. The Medical Therapist plays a vital role in our long-term vision.
The successful candidate will work within a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all women’s team players, and occasionally for pathway players.
This role requires flexible working hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This position offers opportunities for internal CPD, staying current with literature, understanding scope of practice, and enhancing practical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Conduct clinical assessments of injured players before games
* Maintain detailed records of injuries and treatments, uploading them to our platform
* Communicate regularly with coaches, the strength and conditioning team, and players regarding injuries and availability
* Participate in in-house CPD sessions
* Support the development of junior therapists within the women’s pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies on health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFAif qualification with commitment to annual reaccreditation
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, managing injuries and rehabilitation
* Medical insurance suitable for semi-professional women’s footballers
* Ability to participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
