Job description:
Hopton School House are looking for a hardworking, dedicated and caring individual who will be required to work in a well-established nursery, to complete an Early Years Educator Level 5 Apprenticeship, working as a Deputy Manager.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;
1. The Deputy Manager is expected to be able to perform any of the duties required of the other staff ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play and learning experiences which meet their individual needs
2. Taking care of learning journeys and supporting children with their development
3. All aspects of personal care toileting and nappy changing
4. To work as a key member of our team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences that meet their individual needs
5. Assist in providing high standards of quality within the setting including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
6. To act as a Key Worker for a given group of children and to ensure that the assessment, monitoring and recording of individual children’s development takes place
7. Observe, support and extend children's learning within the setting. Ensuring that children’s learning journal and end of term focus sheets are completed and shared with parents sharing next steps
8. To communicate children’s progress to the Manager and parents at regular intervals
9. Assist in the planning appropriate for the EYFS and ensure rich and diverse in and outdoor play experiences are offered
10. Maintain accurate and effective children’s records including registers and accident/incident recording
11. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
12. Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion
13. Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Child Protection Procedures
14. Ensure the nutritional needs of the children are met and Food Safety Regulations are complied with
15. Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS and relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
Requirements;
16. A level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential when applying for this role
17. You must be able to gain a clear DBS
18. GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent
19. Familiar with SEN and SEN practices
20. Fully up to date with the EYFS
21. Experience within similar role

Hours;
26. Hopton School house is open between 07:30-18:00 and are a Term Time Only Setting
27. The successful candidate would be expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week with shift patterns to be discussed
