Job summary
We are recruiting for the role of Podiatry Team Lead in our Scarborough, Whitby, and Ryedale locality.
The team comprises 19 Podiatrists supported by 5 Assistants/apprentices and 4 A&C staff. We provide podiatry services across community sites, Scarborough Hospital, and Malton Hospital.
We welcome applications from HCPC-registered Podiatrists seeking to advance from a band 6 role or make a lateral move into a band 7 team lead position within a service known for quality patient care and staff development.
Essential skills include strong diagnostic and clinical abilities, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the capacity to provide leadership and serve as a role model.
Main duties of the job
The full-time role involves approximately 80% clinical work and 20% leadership. Clinical responsibilities will be at an advanced level in either Diabetes/High Risk or Biomechanics, depending on the candidate's expertise.
Leadership duties include ensuring effective service delivery across sites, staff recruitment, managing leave, conducting development reviews, overseeing patient flow, and maintaining service safety.
The role is supported by a Senior Leadership Team comprising two Principal Podiatrists, the Professional Lead, and three other Podiatry Team Leads.
While previous leadership experience is advantageous, candidates will receive support to develop leadership skills through trust modules and NHS leadership programs.
Although the role is full-time, part-time (minimum 22.5 hours/week) or job share arrangements will be considered.
The post is based at Spring Hill House, Scarborough, but travel to other locations is expected, and a driver’s license or ability to travel is essential. Some non-clinical duties may be performed remotely.
