Job Summary

As a Technology Product Manager for Wholesale, you will play a key role in owning the entire technology product solutions that support Beazley’s core value stream, Policy Servicing. You will act as the primary technology partner for Wholesale markets, translating business needs into actionable product roadmaps and driving successful value delivery through incremental and transformational change. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, subject‑matter experts and global technology teams to ensure that platforms and systems that deliver policy servicing capabilities for Lloyds and other wholesale markets are reliable, well supported and continuously improved. You will lead delivery activity through strong collaboration with offshore development partners and technology vendors, ensuring work aligns to agreed priorities, quality standards and timelines. Your role supports Beazley’s strategic ambitions of simplification, modernisation and growth by ensuring that the technology products in the Wholesale markets portfolio deliver measurable value and support efficient business operations.


Key Responsibilities

* Product Strategy and Planning:
o Shape and execute the technology delivery strategy and roadmap for Wholesale aligned with Beazley’s modernization and growth objectives.
o Drive prioritisation of initiatives and investments in collaboration with business leaders to maximise value and accelerate transformation.
o Translate business requirements into technical specifications whilst maintaining a user‑centric approach in design and feature integration.
o Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather, analyse and relay feedback that informs and continuously improves product development.
o Champion innovation and emerging technologies in collaboration with IT leadership, assessing impact and recommending adoption to strengthen competitive advantage.
o Act as the Agile Release Train Engineer to lead quarterly portfolio PI planning events, ensuring cross‑stakeholder agreement and effective cross‑portfolio execution.
* Delivery Management:
o Drive end‑to‑end delivery of technology initiatives within the Wholesale portfolio, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
o Champion agile and DevSecOps practices to accelerate delivery, strengthen resilience and enhance customer experience.
o Own backlog governance and prioritisation, enabling effective sprint planning and seamless coordination of cross‑team dependencies; oversee feature acceptance and defect prioritisation.
o Foster strong partnerships with vendors and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and maximising value from external engagements.
o Oversee Wholesale systems governance, availability, performance and capacity across production and non‑production environments.
o Represent Wholesale systems during incident triage and major incidents, providing technical leadership and safeguarding business continuity.
* Information Security and Compliance:
o Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of Wholesale systems through robust security measures and compliance with relevant regulations.
o Collaborate with IT leadership, legal and compliance teams to address IT‑related issues and maintain governance frameworks.
o Implement and maintain appropriate IT governance frameworks, policies and procedures related to Wholesale systems and data processing.
* Finance and Vendor Management:
o Contribute to the management of annual plans and budgets aligned to business strategies.
o Optimise cost efficiency across technology delivery, vendor contracts and resource allocation.


Qualifications

* Essential Criteria:
o Proven product management experience in technology delivery within Commercial Lines insurance in Lloyds London Markets with deep understanding of market structures, subscription market dynamics and contract certainty principles.
o Knowledge of the complete policy lifecycle from submission to quote to renewal or cancellation, including MTAs, endorsements, rating, policy issuance, policy documents, premium booking and settlement, complex multi‑layer placements, operational SLAs and service models.
o Experience with broker‑led placements, negotiations, versioning, delegated authority and client‑broker‑carrier servicing dynamics, and UK and Lloyds regulatory requirements.
o Strong experience managing a complex portfolio with multiple suppliers and global teams.
o Expertise in Core Policy Administration Systems (PAS) functionality and architecture for speciality and subscription business, complex risk and layered policy handling, product configuration and rating logic, endorsement and renewal processing, billing and settlement integration, document generation engines and wording.
o Experience with Guidewire and/or Synergy; other experience such as Underwriting workbenches, placement platforms and other policy systems such as Subscribe is an advantage.
o Knowledge of PAS systems integration, APIs, middleware/orchestration, market messaging, bureau and central services integration, legacy batch, SQL/database interactions and ETL mechanisms.
o Knowledge of digital placement platforms, evidence‑of‑cover solutions, bordereaux and delegated reporting.
o Understanding of data and reporting needs from Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Finance and Claims in relation to policy data records.
* Preferred Education and Qualifications:
o Data literacy (SQL, BI tools, data modelling).
o University degree or equivalent experience.
o Certifications in Agile Leadership, Scrum Master, ITIL or Project Management are desirable.
* Skills and Abilities:
o Expertise in Agile delivery, ITIL service management and digital transformation.
o Ability to use evidence‑based approach to prioritise the backlog.
o Practical knowledge of high‑level software architecture and the software development process.
o Trained in modern development techniques (e.g. story mapping and story development).
o Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
o Ability to simplify complex technology concepts for non‑technical audiences.
o Proven experience as a change agent to design and implement process and technology changes while minimising delivery risks and ensuring business continuity.
o Jira expertise.
