Job Purpose:
To prepare and serve high-quality breakfast dishes to hotel guests in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, and contributing to a smooth morning kitchen operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook breakfast items according to the hotels menu and presentation standards (including buffet and la carte options).
Ensure food is prepared and served on time for guest service.
Monitor stock levels for breakfast items and communicate replenishment needs.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation and service areas.
Follow food safety guidelines and always ensure HACCP compliance.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of the breakfast area, including equipment cleaning.
Minimise food waste and ensure portion control.
Support with kitchen deliveries, storage, and stock rotation.
Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth breakfast service.
Provide a warm and approachable kitchen presence, interacting politely if required by guests.
Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Head or Sous Chef.
Required Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as a breakfast chef or similar kitchen role in a hotel or restaurant.
Knowledge of breakfast food preparation, including hot and cold dishes.
Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
Ability to work early morning shifts (typically starting between 5:006:00 AM).
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Relevant food hygiene certification preferred (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety).
Working Hours:
5:30 AM 1:30 PM, including weekends and bank holidays on rotation.
