Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role in our operations, working independently within the Production Team, this position is responsible for conducting both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance to ensure the ongoing reliability and efficiency of AL-KO plant and equipment. In addition, the Maintenance Engineer will oversee facilities maintenance across our multiple Southam sites, managing any required support from external contractors to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Duties

* Facility Management of Southam locations, (security, safety, environmental & key holder requirements etc)
* Organise, liaise with and manage all contractors on AL-KO Southam sites
* Carryout routine building maintenance where possible, ensuring safety compliance
* Liaise with production on a daily basis to minimize the impact of plant breakdowns
* Work with Production to schedule planned preventative maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring scheduled maintenance has negligible impact on production
* Record keeping and document creation of all works ensuring compliance withISO9001/Safety systems (e.g. Power Press Regulations)
* Assist production in identifying any specialist tools/equipment required ensuring compliance with current legislation (e.g. jigs, fixtures, etc)
* Responsible person for tool changing e.g. Power Press
* Determine/control spares stock levels
* Manufacture and maintain manufacturing aids as specified, when required
* Undertake rework operations required on product e.g. chassis members, T-Poles, etc. (this may include welding) when necessary
* Manage the calibration of all necessary equipment
* Conduct basic machine shop practical training of others when required
* Supervise any users of tool room plant and equipment to ensure safe use
* Maintain housekeeping in appropriate work areas
* Maintain the asset register, ensuring all new plant is captured
* Complete PAT testing
* Complete any necessary H&S audits
* Support with the creation of risk assessments
* Attend Operations meetings, providing updates on maintenance activity
* Keep up to date with H&S legislation and act as a representative on the internal H&S Committee
* Make recommendations for continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

* Ideally you will be a time-served Engineer, having achieved a Level 3 apprenticeship/BTEC in Engineering or equivalent
* You will have practical experience of tuning and the use of general machine shop equipment
* Demonstrable experience of safety knowledge and its application
* You will have the ability to read engineering drawings
* Good knowledge and understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic circuitry
* The ability to work as part of a team, whilst also working autonomously
* You will be a problem solver, with excellent fault finding skills
* An assertive, optimistic, resilient individual who thrives under pressure
* The ability to prioritise and manage multiple competing priorities
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be comfortable collaborating with others
* Good stakeholder management
* Flexible approach to work (hours and tasks)
* Good knowledge of MS office
* Clean driving license
* If you held a recognised qualification in any of the following, it would be advantageous, however, not essential: FLT license, have the ability to provide Electrical maintenance/installation, Mig welding, Crane operation (including slinging)

Package

* Salary: Competitive package depending on experience
* Working Hours: Monday - Thursday; 7.30am - 4pm, Fridays 7.30am pm
* Holidays: 25 days per annum plus public holidays
* Medical: Access to Bupa Cash Plan to cover everyday expenses
* Death in Service: 3 x salary
