About the Role
Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a Policy Officer to join our Policy team. This is your chance to contribute to public policy, support strategic decisions, and help design services that truly meet the needs of our communities.
As a Policy Officer you will research and analyse national and regional policy, provide expert advice to support the development and implementation of council policies, coordinate policy projects, develop and maintain procedures, and communicate findings through reports, briefings and stakeholder engagement.
Your work will ensure policy compliance, drive service improvements, and support informed decision‑making across the organisation.
Work Environment
This role offers flexible blended working, with time split between home and the central Bath office at the Guildhall. You’ll also have access to hot desking at our award‑winning Civic Centre in Keynsham.

About You
* Degree or equivalent experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.
* Expertise in research methods, policy development, project management and interpreting legislation into practice.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively, with knowledge of public sector issues.
