Purpose of the role
To optimise and address Barclays' 3rd party spend requirements, including defining, developing, and implementing approaches for relevant spend categories and requirements. This involves close collaboration with the business and the execution of strategic sourcing and buying channel development/optimisation.
Accountabilities
1. Profile spend in the category area and develop an understanding of business strategy, requirements, cost levers, and opportunities. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop requests for proposal, and ensure sourcing activities align with the bank's needs and priorities.
2. Plan and execute sourcing events, including RFP/RFXs, and negotiate to meet business requirements for value, speed, compliance, and risk.
3. Monitor and guide controls and compliance requirements throughout the category and sourcing cycle, from request to contract, including regulatory engagement, controls, audits, and data quality.
4. Develop, implement, and operate policies and procedures for sourcing activities aligned with policies, standards, compliance, and regulation.
5. Identify and deliver change opportunities to improve the effectiveness, control, and efficiency of sourcing processes, including buying channel optimisation for relevant categories of spend.
6. Identify industry trends and developments related to sourcing and category management through conferences, training, and market research.
