Job Summary : The Production Manager is responsible for coordinating site production efforts to ensure timely completion of production activity against the published schedule. Provide the necessary direction and supervision for a dynamic and changing environment which requires quick thinking when problems arise. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and drive process development within the department. Take full ownership of the shop floor and actively participate in business systems development and improvement. Support new product introduction activities by guiding production team through prototype assembly. Liaise with Engineering teams to efficiently transfer knowledge to the Production team. Lead the new product introduction effort in the UK. Duties/Responsibilities: Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment. Foster a team atmosphere for great performance and synergy in the work group. Manage the production operations to manufacture goods that meet customer expectations, minimize waste (scrap), achieve quality standards. Reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly shipping volume with a focus on achieving company revenue goals. Maintain constant communication with Engineering teams within the organization. Provide support to other site disciplines to achieve common business goals, especially regarding prototype assembly. Ensure compliance with all company policies, business systems, and assembly procedures. Work with other Operations and Quality Departments production managers on continuous improvement of processes and manufacturing environment. Oversee the material management process to ensure adequate inventory to meet production demand; communicates with Purchasing and Planning departments to ensure material flow and action part shortages. Utilizing data such as VSM or SPC, identify areas of opportunity and suggest efficiency improvements within the department. Supervise the use of Oracle NetSuite by production staff. Provide manufacturing engineering expertise to the engineering team in support of Design for Cost and Design for Manufacturability goals. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage the production team and act as mentor for more junior level members of staff. Manages Materials and Logistics staff. Develop internal talent with a clear roadmap to success and leads the organization to meet or exceed customer expectations. Required Skills and Abilities : Strong knowledge of shop floor and production management. Prior experience in mechanical or electronics engineering for complex electromechanical systems. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Thrive working in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Master's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in production team management, preferably within a high-tech manufacturing organization.
