People Manager
Salary: £51,220 – £59,465 pa

As our People Manager, you'll lead and support a dedicated team of People Partners and Assistants to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused and forward-thinking people service. You'll help shape a culture where people feel supported, empowered, and able to perform at their best.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the Service. You'll provide expert advice on a wide range of people matters, manage complex employee relations cases, and coach managers to build confidence and capability in people leadership. You'll play an active role in driving change, delivering key people projects, and continuously improving our policies, systems and processes.
You'll report to the Assistant Director – People and work closely with colleagues across the wider People Group – including Recruitment, L&D, Culture and Policy – to deliver a joined-up, impactful service. You'll also deputise for the Assistant Director - People as needed and represent the function at senior-level meetings.
You'll bring:
* A strong HR background with experience managing a busy HR/people function
* Level 7 CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment law, HR best practice, and policy development
* Experience of developing People policies and procedures that are fit for business context, driving performance and mitigating risk.
* Experience supporting change, leading people projects and managing team performance
* A collaborative approach, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* The ability to juggle competing priorities, lead with confidence, and role-model our Service values
