On behalf of the Manager the post holder is responsible for the day-to-day operational issues within designated area of responsibility to ensure the Service Group delivers on its key targets & priorities in a safe, sustainable and effective environment

On behalf of the Divisional Manager take a management lead on the day-to-day delivery of operational clinical services. Ensuring that junior staff rotas are functional and support the delivery of modernisation targets.

Provide direct support to the Lead Clinicians in the management of demand for and supply of capacity on a day-today basis. This post supports the Manager and assists in the modernisation, planning and delivery of services within the Service Group.

Act on own initiative to resolve capacity issues liaising with consultants and other departments to ensure current and future targets are met

Main duties of the job

Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Lead Clinician and Senior Nurses which develop and support robust communication on a range of complex and sometime sensitive issues where there may be barriers to understanding.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with non-clinical staff at all levels both within and outside the Health Board ensuring appropriate levels of influence.

Attend and participate in regular meetings Hospital meetings, as required

1. Recognised management qualification i.e. ISM
2. Service Improvement qualification (Bronze)
3. Knowledge of effective operational management.
4. Knowledge change and development.

Aptitude & Abilities

5. Full range of IT skills.
6. Excellent communication organisational skills. Innovative and well organised.
7. Ability to plan and prioritise.
8. Ability to concentrate frequently when under pressure and subject to interruptions.
