You will join our new multi-agency integrated primary/secondary care MDTs, working alongside multidisciplinary teams, service users, and VCSE organisations to shape the future of psychologically-informed mental health care in South Bedfordshire PCNs. The psychological workforce includes Principal Psychologists, Highly Specialist Psychologists, CBT therapists, CAPs, and Assistant Psychologists.
While based mainly in Leighton Buzzard, you will be part of a group providing functions like consultation and group offers for other South Beds CMHT in Dunstable, and vice versa.
Newly qualified psychologists may be appointed at Band 7 under a preceptorship, working towards Band 8a requirements, subject to satisfactory completion of the preceptorship.
The post-holder will provide evidence-based psychological assessments, formulation, and interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs, including individual, couple/family, and group interventions. The role involves consultation, teaching, supervision, and participation in quality improvement projects and staff support initiatives.
Opportunities exist to supervise Assistant and Trainee Psychologists. The Trust offers comprehensive training, CPD, and involvement in quality improvement and innovative projects, fostering a supportive environment for professional development.
Our mission is to make a positive difference in people's lives by improving their quality of life. We value qualities of care, respect, and inclusivity, and seek individuals who embody these in their work with service users, carers, colleagues, and partner organisations.
