A Senior Fire Engineer job is available in Richmond, Southwest London with a specialist, design-led fire engineering consultancy delivering compliant, practical fire strategies across the built environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing complex fire engineering projects from concept to delivery, with clear progression to chartership and long-term career development. The business operates nationally and is known for prioritising quality over volume.
What you'll be doing
Project leadership
* Lead fire engineering projects from design through to completion
* Develop fire strategies, technical reports, sketches, and calculations
* Carry out fire dynamics and structural fire assessments
Modelling & analysis
* Undertake smoke and evacuation modelling
* Perform hand calculations, zone modelling, and CFD simulations
Design & compliance
* Review building designs for fire compliance
* Develop fire-engineered solutions with the wider design team
* Apply UK fire regulations and guidance across multiple sectors
Client & team collaboration
* Work with clients, architects, and statutory authorities
* Lead meetings and agree compliant design outcomes
* Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
* Support the strategic growth of the fire engineering team
What we're looking for
* Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline
* Senior experience in a fire engineering consultancy
* CEng or actively working towards chartership
* Strong UK project delivery experience
* Experience across new build and existing buildings
* Confident client-facing communication
* Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
* Able to manage multiple projects independently
