ABOUT THE WORTHGATE SCHOOL
The Worthgate School offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 13+ from all over the world. Students study for GCSEs, A levels and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. JOB OVERVIEW
The School Nurse role is there to ensure that students are physically and emotionally healthy, so they can thrive in their educational environment. The work not only addresses immediate health needs but also promotes a culture of wellness in the school community. This role involves the administration of medication to our student community, both children and adults as well as promoting health and wellness within the setting. As part of the Wellness Centre Team, you will work closely with the school staff to address wellbeing and mental health concerns as well as engaging with external agencies in support of the student. The Wellness Centre’s facilities are well equipped in order to facilitate the immediate care, both medical and pastoral, of pupils and staff at the school. The School Nurse is responsible for the day-to-day medical provision across the school and may be required to provide medical assistance in any one of the school’s buildings from the Wellness Centre.
WORKING HOURS
This role is attracting a 33.75hrs working week, for 41 weeks per year, this includes INSET Days and extra days to be worked outside of term time. This role includes some weekly on-call availability as required. Additional hours worked should be agreed with - your Line Manager. In exceptional circumstances, some additional weekend and night work may be required to cover Boarding Houses. Arrivals weekend and events.
This role is term-time only.

A qualified nurse or health care professional, preferably with experience within Education
Efficient and organised

Experience of working with young people
Proven safeguarding experience
Proven management skills
A logical, structured and organised outlook on life
High levels of energy, an even temper and a sense of humour

A willingness to work unsociable hours, including occasionally at weekends and evening
