This role sits within the Financial & Prudential Risk team and is responsible for delivering a comprehensive financial risk assurance plan across key Group legal entities. You’ll play a critical role in providing assurance to Executives and Boards over capital, liquidity and financial resilience, and help ensure that SJP remains within risk appetite while meeting regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver the financial risk assurance plan for Group entities, including oversight of financial risk assessments and capital frameworks.
2. Lead delivery of ORSA and ICARA processes, including stress and scenario testing, and reporting for relevant Boards.
3. Manage risk oversight for Partner lending activity and model risk management.
4. Support Recovery and Wind-Down planning, ensuring financial and operational resilience.
5. Provide financial risk insight and assurance to the Finance Directorate and other business areas, supporting strategic decision-making.
6. Maintain compliance with local and international regulatory requirements, supporting policy development and embedding regulatory changes.
7. Build strong relationships with Finance, Partner Finance, and business risk teams to foster an integrated risk culture.
Who we’re looking for:
An experienced financial risk professional with deep technical expertise in prudential and capital risk management. You’ll combine strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate insights effectively to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and able to influence across a range of business and technical forums.
Skills & Experience:
8. Significant experience in a second-line financial risk function within financial services.
9. Excellent understanding of risk frameworks, control processes, and prudential risk management.
10. Strong knowledge of capital and liquidity risk principles, including ORSA/ICARA, stress testing and recovery planning.
11. Proven ability to analyse complex financial risks and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
12. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage across business and risk functions.
Desirable:
13. Professional qualification in Actuarial Science, Financial Risk Management, or a related discipline.
14. Experience providing risk assurance relating to lending or capital management activities.
15. Exposure to regulatory engagement or industry bodies on financial or prudential risk matters.
