Job Description The Reverse Supply Chain Manager is responsible for maximizing the commercial and operational value of electronic assets exiting the supply chain or being obtained through trade-in programs — including broken, returned, or surplus mobile devices, consumer electronics (CE), TVs, and other asset categories. This role combines commercial analysis, strategic partner management, and operational excellence to drive optimal monetization, reuse, and sustainability outcomes for SquareTrade’s asset portfolio. The position plays a critical role in supporting SquareTrade’s broader repair, sustainability and trade-in strategy by identifying value creation opportunities, improving asset utilization, and collaborating cross-functionally across supply chain, demand planning, and commercial teams. Job Responsibilities Asset Monetisation & Sales Manage all assets across mobile, CE, TV, and other categories that result as a byproduct of servicing insurance claims. Oversee the sale of broken or surplus assets, ensuring maximum recovery value through resale, refurbishment, or recycling. Develop and manage commercial relationships with third-party buyers to secure the best commercial outcomes. Manage the sales of devices obtained through trade-in programs and own the commercial model that determines consumer facing propositions. Commercial Strategy & Modelling Create and refine commercial models to assess optimal outcomes for electronic assets — determining whether to sell, repair, or reuse. Conduct ongoing reviews of monetization routes to ensure the most efficient and profitable asset recovery strategy. Explore salvaging and reuse opportunities as part of SquareTrade’s repair strategy where applicable. Value-Add & Operational Improvement Develop and manage value-add activities to improve asset utilisation (e.g., refurbishment or component reuse before monetisation). Own the development, tracking, and analysis of operational KPIs related to asset management effectiveness to identify improvement opportunities. Manage the Trade-In capability to ensure effective monetisation of devices for partners as needed. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination Support broader inventory management activities, including overstock and obsolescence management, WIP tracking, and asset flow optimization. Contribute to supply chain efficiency by assisting with stock replacement matrix adjustments and ensuring assets are properly categorized and tracked. Collaborate closely with Demand Planning and Purchasing teams to coordinate upstream and downstream asset movements and align with forecasted demand. Performance Indicators (KPIs) Asset recovery value per category or channel. Margin contribution from resale or refurbishment programs. Accuracy and efficiency of asset flow and reporting. Partner satisfaction and commercial performance metrics. Trade-in program commercial efficiency.
