The Role and Setting
A specialist and highly supportive SEND college in Manchester is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Foundation Tutor to deliver and maintain outstanding teaching, learning, and care for learners within the Foundation 1 cohort. You will play a key role in ensuring learners with SEND achieve the outcomes set out in their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Working closely with the Head of College and wider team, you will plan and deliver a personalised curriculum, lead on assessment and progress tracking, and ensure learning is ambitious, inclusive, and tailored to individual needs. You will also act as a key pastoral contact, supporting learners’ wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and personal development.

Requirements
To be considered for this SEND Foundation Tutor role, you will:
1. Hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be working towards one)
2. Have at least 2 years’ teaching experience or strong experience supporting learners with SEND
3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of EHCPs and inclusive, trauma-informed practice
4. Be skilled in planning, delivering, and assessing differentiated learning
5. Have experience improving learner progress, engagement, and achievement
6. Be confident using assessment data and tracking systems to inform teaching
7. Demonstrate excellent communication skills with learners, families, and professionals
8. Be a strong team player with a positive, resilient, and compassionate approach
9. Be able to maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and engagement
10. Have experience using a range of teaching strategies, including ICT
