Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
Act as a key worker for identified students, monitoring progress and liaising with parents, carers and professionals.
Develop positive relationships with students to build self-esteem, motivation, and resilience.
Assist with behaviour monitoring and analysis, using school data systems.
Support reintegration of students following exclusions or extended absences.
Contribute to the wider pastoral care provision, including safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives.
Maintain detailed records of interventions and student progress.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or pastoral setting (essential)
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and child development (essential)
A Level 3 qualification in Education, Youth Work, Psychology or a related field (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused under pressure
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training will be provided)
Experience working with external agencies such as CAMHS, Social Services or SEND support (desirable)
