Maintenance Engineer – Ramsay General Role To manage, daily, the resources within the Engineering department in order to ensure that all production functions effectively and allows manufacturing to maximise up-time and meet customer requirements. To carry out any repairs necessary to buildings and non-production equipment, organise quotations, and manage the delivery of any work to be carried out by Contractors. To work in conjunction with the Management Team to achieve the wider company objectives, and to conform to the QMS (IATF 16949, ISO 9001), EMS (ISO 14001), OHAS (ISO 45001). Key Requirements • Good communicator • Good timekeeper • Team player and respect for people • Flexible and positive attitude to work • Follow information and instruction to the best of your ability • Experience of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Power point, Word etc. • Experience of CNC and PLC machinery, rotary flatbed die-cutting presses, horizontal splitting machines, and slitter/rewind lamination. Main Responsibilities Operations • To plan, monitor and deploy Preventive/Autonomous Maintenance to make the most efficient use of machinery and to ensure that the plant is useable for its expected lifetime. • To provide engineering support to other group companies as and when required, by prior agreement with Manager. • To ensure that the site, machinery and ancillary equipment meet the required Health & Safety regulations in accordance with current legislation. • Minimising Production costs • Minimising wastage • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend/implement improvements. • Recommend/implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety. • Procurement and management of external service providers for specialised jobs. • Maintenance of records. • Spare parts planning and inventory control. Quality • Maintaining records to ensure compliance with the QMS and EMS standard. • Highlighting problems and issues in a timely manner • Maintain a clean work area that is safe and organised. Health & Safety • Working in a safe manner with due consideration for personal Health & Safety and that of co-workers. • Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation. • Identify and report unsafe operations to Manager immediately. • Ensure site and all factory services operate safely. Learning & Developments • Attending Company training courses/sessions which will support your continuous personal development. • To hold regular update sessions with their manager to assess their training and future development needs. Other • Any other duties as required to fulfil the company needs. • The post-holder must; always; maintain the complete confidentiality of the material and information they handle. • Maintain and manage the company Maintenance vehicle. Working Hours Basic working hours are 38 hours per week Monday-Thursday - 7am – 5pm with a paid 10-minute break in the morning and an unpaid 30 minute break at lunchtime. Holiday Entitlement The company’s holiday year runs from 2nd Jan to 1st Jan. You are entitled to 28 days holiday each year which includes the usual public holidays in England or Wales. Benefits Pay: £35k - £40k p.a. You will be eligible for the company Occupation Sick Pay Scheme (OSP) upon completion of your probationary period
