Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead all aspects of site activities on the night shift to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient site operations. This is a hands-on management role involving leadership of operations on a COMAH site, contributing to safety performance and EBITA budget targets.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the depot outside normal office hours.
* Lead the Night Shift Operations team to ensure all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
* Plan and prioritize the daily workload for the operations team.
* Manage HR aspects such as holidays, sickness, return-to-work interviews, and overtime.
* Perform hands-on work during shifts as required, since this is a working manager position.
* Monitor processes and control operations, including shift handovers and plant start-up/shutdown.
* Handle receipt and dispatch of bulk chemicals.
* Act as Site Incident Controller during on-site or off-site chemical incidents until management arrives.
* Assist in process fault finding and cause analysis with Site Managers.
* Issue and control permits to work.
* Support reporting and investigations into accidents, incidents, misloads, and near misses.
* Assist in producing SOPs and site procedures for operational processes.
* Perform any additional tasks assigned by line managers that are within your skills and abilities.
Health & Safety: Promote and comply with all safety policies to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Key Interfaces: Hub Manager, Operations Manager, Depot Staff.
Skills
o Experience in a chemical industry environment on a COMAH facility (preferred).
o Proven supervisory experience, with a focus on team development and motivation.
o Knowledge of liquid process engineering in manufacturing (preferred).
o Understanding of relevant regulations such as the Health and Safety at Work Act and COMAH.
