Transactions Tax - Assistant Manager, Manchester
We are looking for bright and enthusiastic Associates/Assistant Managers interested in gaining M&A tax experience.
Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Tax team provides a full spectrum of tax services to private equity, funds, deals, and portfolio companies on domestic and international transactions.
We advise mid-market private equity firms and large corporates on deal values ranging from millions to over £1 billion, supporting clients throughout the deal lifecycle from proposal to post-deal advice.
This dynamic environment requires technical expertise, client interaction, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
TAS Tax is a small, growing team with opportunities for responsibility and development as the team expands.
Internal secondments of 6+ months are considered. Flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job sharing, are supported to help balance work, study, and personal life.
Role overview: As part of the TAS Tax team, you will provide tax structuring advice and conduct tax due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions, including work on AIM and Main Market transactions.
Our sector diversity includes technology, gaming, care homes, art galleries, travel, and retail. If you enjoy varied projects and sectors, you'll fit well. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting deal teams and managing client relationships.
2. Leading due diligence preparations and meetings.
3. Analyzing data and preparing reports.
4. Drafting tax structuring reports considering transaction implications.
5. Building internal and external stakeholder relationships.
6. Assisting with proposals and project budgets.
7. Conducting technical research using legislation and guidance.
8. Managing workload and priorities effectively.
Candidate profile: UK tax experience, ATT/ACA/CTA qualification or part-qualified preferred. Skills include:
1. Corporation tax compliance.
2. Experience with transfer pricing, R&D, VAT, employment taxes, stamp duty, share transactions.
3. Technical tax advisory experience is advantageous.
4. Strong project management and deadline skills.
5. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
